“I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn't be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.” - Roald Dahl
I share Mr. Dahl's passion for teaching children to become readers, and it is my hope that each student leaves my class with a love of reading and an understanding of how important being a reader is to his/her future success.
I began teaching in Rankin County in January 2000 after graduating from Mississippi State University. Over the past 14.5 years, I have taught special education, gifted education, Pre-AP 7th and 8th grade English, 10th grade writing, and various English electives. This will be my third year at BMS, and I am so blessed to call it "home."
My husband and I have two children (and four rescued furbabies) who are proud to be Brandon Bulldogs!
